About the event
From July 15th to 19th, International chess forum Moscow 2026, organized by Moscow City Department of sport together with Moscow city chess federation, was held at Irina Viner Palace. The 2026 forum was held for the 22nd time and attracted 900 participants.
In the All-Star Tournament, Sergey Karjakin defeated Ernesto Inarkiev. Karjakin won 6.5 to 1.5 after four rapid and eight blitz games.
Two-time Moscow Champion Vladimir Zakhartsov won the Russian Cup stage among men, and World Vice Champion Natalia Pogonina won the women’s stage.

The Moscow 2026 Forum included an additional program for guests:
- games commentary;
- rapid chess and blitz tournaments;

- floor chess pieces.
Dance troupes and actress, singer and blogger Anna Nemchenko performed at the opening ceremony on July 15. Dmitry Guberniev hosted.
An All-Russian referee seminar was also held as part of the forum.
